That means we’re doing an offline-online workflow, for starters. Rather than being all rogue about things, we’re just going to pretend we understand film workflows very well, and take the central ideas of film post and adapt them for our purposes. Film’s expensive to deal with, and a feature will tend to generate miles and miles of it, so staying organized and being consistent isn’t really optional. You remember film? Film workflows are both ancient and venerable, because my God, they have to be. The basic idea here is to pretend we’re talking about film. But lemme start with kind of a 10,000-foot view of the whole process, just so you know where we’re heading. I’m gonna break this down into sections and go into some detail. The basic workflow, though, should be pretty easily adapted to other tools.
